THE SMITH CENTER | for Private Enterprise Studies |
The Smith Center's Annual Entrepreneur of the Year Award is conferred on that person, who, in the judgment of The Smith Center Advisors and its Director, exemplifies the best of free market entrepreneurship. That is, one who is successful in his or her endeavors while playing by the rules of voluntary exchange and refraining from seeking from government any subsidies for himself or burdens for his competitors.
